Behind every Band of Builders project is a construction worker or family going through one of the toughest times of their lives.
Our completed projects show what happens when the construction industry comes together to look after its own. From home adaptations and essential repairs to full refurbishments, each project is delivered by volunteers, supporters and partners who give their time, skills and resources to make a real difference.
These are not just building jobs. They are lifelines. They create safer homes, restore dignity, ease pressure on families and give people the space to focus on recovery, wellbeing and what matters most.
Every project you see here represents teamwork, generosity and the power of community across the UK construction industry. Together, we turn hardship into hope, one project at a time.

Kyle’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in October 2019 – Kyle was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when he was just a few days old. Having been in and out of hospital and on medication since birth. This project provided Kyle with his own space, away from the medication, nebulisers and physiotherapy.

Steve’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in September 2019 – Band of Builders goal was to help complete works started by Steve to allow Elaine and the family to enjoy the home that Steve dreamed of creating

Jonnie’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in July 2019 – this project was to make Jonnie’s home more accessible for him, working with the Lighthouse Charity and DG Accessible Designs Ltd.

Peter’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in April 2019 – as a result of an accident whilst at work, Peter has been left wheelchair bound with years of medical treatment to hopefully get him back on his feet.

Martin Wilk’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in September 2018 – Band of Builders adapted the home of Martin Wilks; a general builder who was left paralysed and with a fractured skull after a fall at work.

Jamie’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in September 2018 – Jamie, a builder suffering from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) needed modifications to his garden and kitchen
to make them more accessible so he could spend precious time with his family and young children. -
Pippa’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in May 2018 – this project helped provide specialist bathing and changing facilities for two-year-old Pippa, who suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Sadie’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in March 2018 – this project was for Sadie, who was born with a range of complications, with a safe home environment, including a downstairs toilet to allow her parents and carers to remain close to her whilst using the bathroom.

Ipswich Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in September 2017 – this project was to adapt and improve a dated and inaccessible family bathroom into a wet room for a painter and decorator who had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, allowing him to use it safely and comfortably.

Dan’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in November 2017 – Dan’s garden needed landscaping to create a safe space for him to spend time with his family, especially anticipating potential mobility issues as his condition worsens.

Keith’s Project
VIEW DETAILSCompleted in May 2016 – It all began when our founder, Addam Smith, learned that his close friend and fellow construction worker, Keith Ellick, had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Wanting to do something, anything, to make life a little easier for Keith, Addam put out a call on social media asking for help to landscape Keith’s garden.
